Call for paper

The Academic Committee invites researchers in Didactics of Biology/Biology Education to participate in the 14th Conference of European Researchers in Didactics of Biology (ERIDOB 2024), The title of the conference is Biology Education for Bridging the Gap between Science and Society. ERIDOB aims to bring together researchers in didactics of Biology from around the world to share and discuss their research work and results.

IMPORTANT: Proposal submissions for ERIDOB 2024 must be made online through the https://eridob2024.sciencesconf.org conference management system.

Submissions are closed.

PLEASE make sure that your proposal reflects research in Biology Education. Proposals dealing with general Science Education research will not be considered.

Contributions should fit into one of the following strands within biology education:

1. Health education and environmental education
2. Outdoor and informal education
3. Scientific thinking, scientific explanations, nature of science
4. Socioscientific issues (including gender & cultural issues)
5. Students’ conceptions and conceptual reconstruction
6. Students’ values, attitudes and decision-making
7. Teaching strategies and learning environments
8. Writing, speaking, reading and argumentation

In 2022, there were so few papers submitted in the strand « Students' interest & motivation » that we decided the following : for the 2024 conference, submissions, if any, dealing with « Students' interest and motivation » will have to be registered within the strand n°6 « students’ values, attitudes and decision making ».
We also decided to limit the number of strands to 8, which is the number of academic committee members. So, please register submissions dealing with the previous strand called « Teaching and learning with digital environment » within the current strand n°7 « Teaching strategies and learning environments. »

The academic committee is considering updating the strands. In order to associate the ERIDOB community to this reflection, we suggest that you indicate, if you wish, another strand in which you would have liked to register your submission. Please use for that the “comment” box at the eridob2024.sciencesconf.org page.
